The editor used to recalculate on the server for each change, which meant waiting to find out whether a caption sat where you wanted it. Now the preview plays the composition directly, and the render only happens once, at the end, on what you decided.
Preview and export read the same framing data, including the crop bounds and the letterbox fill. That parity is the whole value: a preview that disagrees with the export is worse than no preview, because you trust it and then you are wrong.
