Thirteen new MCP tools: upload, edit, translate and publish from an AI agent

Until now an agent connected to Katto could start a job, fetch the clips, re-render them and dub them. Everything after that, editing a clip or posting it, still meant opening the dashboard. Version 0.6.0 of the MCP server adds thirteen tools that cover the rest of the workflow.

Getting video in: katto_upload_video sends a file from your computer, for when there is no public link.

Working on clips: katto_create_clip cuts a clip from any time range of the source, katto_more_clips renders more of the moments Katto scored but did not render, katto_adjust_clip trims or extends a clip, katto_add_hook puts a hook over the first seconds, katto_translate_captions translates the captions into one of 19 languages, katto_retitle_clip changes the title, and katto_rate_clip records a thumbs up or down.

Publishing: katto_generate_post_text writes the post text for each platform, katto_list_connected_accounts shows which social accounts are connected, katto_publish_clip posts now or schedules up to 7 days ahead, and katto_list_scheduled_posts and katto_cancel_scheduled_post manage what is scheduled. The server tells the agent to get your explicit confirmation of the clip, the platform and the caption before it publishes anything.

None of the new tools uses video quota. Only starting a new job does, as before; an AI-written title counts against your plan's monthly title regenerations, as it does in the editor. Each tool is also a REST endpoint, documented at katto.tech/docs/api.

Every tool was called against the live service before release. The hosted server at mcp.katto.tech updates on its own; if you run it locally, update to katto-mcp 0.6.0. The full reference with input schemas: katto.tech/mcp/tools.
